$1.25

Marathon I Sod is a Southern California Classic. This deep dark green Tall Fescue will give your yard that curb appeal every neighbor will envy. The most drought tolerant Fescue Seed available is used to make the Marathon sod as drought tolerant as an evergreen Tall Fescue can be. It is one of the most popular cool-season, evergreen variety with a rich dark green color. It has a medium leaf blade that very disease resistance, partial shade tolerance and a deep root system to help for drought tolerance. It is easy to care for and adapts well to the varied climates and soils of the West. We do not recommend Marathon I for small areas with large pets or in areas that may have water restrictions due to severe drought conditions. This turf is great for Children, small pets and is soft to the touch. Great for semi and direct coastal areas. Marathon I can tolerate shade better then Marathon II.

WATERING:
For the first 20 days, water as needed to keep the topsoil moist to a 3-inch depth. After 20 days, water three or more times a week during warm weather. In cooler weather, water once or twice a week. Sandy soil requires more frequent watering than clay soil. Inland areas require more water than coastal areas. Special attention should be paid to slopes and mounds where runoff occurs. More frequent, shorter watering may be necessary.

FERTILIZATION:
You can start Fertilizing 2-3 months after installation and in six to eight week intervals if needed depending on your lawn’s color. Light green is an indication that your lawn needs fertilizer. Use an all purpose fertilizer, and follow label directions.

MOWING:
Mow seven days after installation. Mow to a height of 2 1/2" -3 1/2" inches. Weekly mowing recommended except in cold weather, when mowing may be less frequent. Never mow more than one third of the blade at one time; it may injure the plant.
